We never would have imagined the “Cowboy State” would produce a promising electronic synth trio, but it did. It has also produced a variety of roots, rock, and country artists—one of which is a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize—all worthy to be included in Paste’s 50 States Project.

This year, they will come as performers, with their name on the program and everything.

"It is an incredible opportunity for us, and honestly, I am really excited about sharing the stage with people that are on my iTunes playlist," Harrington said.

The Laramie-based Americana group got the invite to play the annual music festival after winning a battle of the bands contest. They will serve as one of the openers for a festival headlined by Morris Day and the Time, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Dumpstaphunk. Known for its impressive variety of styles and genres, the festival will also feature music from Otis Taylor, The Patti Fiasco...

A life lived in Wyoming beats the heart of the music of The Libby Creek Original.

 

The five-man Americana group, named after the stream that crashes down the eastern flank of the Snowy Range, celebrates its home state with high-energy arrangements backing lyrics about high ground, seam-ripping winds and long road trips.
